Can anyone digitize their videotape at MIPoPS?
MIPoPS partners with not-for-profit cultural institutions such as libraries, museums, and archives, primarily in the Puget Sound region. We have also worked with religious organizations, dance groups, theatre troupes, and more. If your organization is interested in a digitization project, please get in touch with us!

How much does MIPoPS cost?
MIPoPS has a fee schedule that takes into account the type of organization, size of the collection, and a set of additional factors. Please visit our Services page for more information.

Does MIPoPS do 8mm or 16mm film?
No, at this time MIPoPS is not able to transfer film to digital.

What tape formats can MIPoPS digitize?
We can currently digitize 7 different formats:

  • 3⁄4″ Umatic
  • VHS (including SP, EP/LP, VHS-C and S-VHS)
  • Betacam (including SP and DigiBeta)
  • DV (including DVPro, DVCAM and MiniDV)
  • 1-inch
  • Hi8
  • DVD
  • LaserDisc
